Megan “Meg” O’Brien is a recent graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington, where she earned her J.D. cum laude and received multiple academic honors, including a CALI Award in Constitutional Law and recognition on the Dean’s List for multiple semesters. During law school, Meg was selected to be a Research Assistant for an Assistant Professor at the law school and served as a Teaching Assistant for first-year Constitutional Law students.
Meg gained hands-on legal experience as a Rule 9 Licensed Legal Intern with the Washington State Office of the Attorney General in the Social and Health Services Section. There, she supported attorneys representing state social workers involved in child welfare proceedings—an experience that deepened her passion for family law and child advocacy. Prior to that, she served as a legal intern with the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP), where she assisted migrant clients and their families through complex immigration processes.
Before entering law school, Meg worked as a Communications and Outreach Coordinator at Justice North (formerly Legal Aid Service of Northeastern Minnesota), where she helped launch statewide access to justice initiatives, coordinated fundraising events, and established medical-legal partnerships with tribal communities and local clinics. She also brings a background in project management and media coordination from her time at a marketing agency in Duluth, Minnesota.
Meg holds dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth: a B.B.A. in Marketing and a B.A. in Spanish/Hispanic Studies, graduating with honors. Her ability to communicate effectively, combined with her legal training and community-focused mindset, allows her to serve clients with compassion, clarity, and commitment during some of life’s most challenging transitions.
Originally from Shakopee, Minnesota, Meg enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, practicing yoga and Pilates, and exploring hiking trails in her free time.
